Secure all Christmas decorations outside because the wind will blow

“Make sure that all Christmas decorations outside are securely fastened because the wind will be strong,” says weatherman Johnny Willemsen of Weerplaza. “You should really enjoy the mild and dry winter weather in the coming days. It will rain from Tuesday and there will certainly be strong winds on Thursday and Friday before Christmas. And no, it will not be a white Christmas.”

We will have calm winter weather in Brabant in the coming days. During the coming week, daytime temperatures will fluctuate between five and eight degrees. It just won’t freeze at night. It is coldest in the southeast of Brabant. If it starts to rain from Tuesday, there is the greatest chance that wet snow will fall, but that will be at night and the white duvet will not be there.

Code yellow
There will be a lot of wind on Thursday and Friday and a code yellow may be given. This means that at sea it is wind force 9 and in Brabant it is wind force 6. Road users in particular must pay extra attention. “The wind gusts in particular can be treacherous,” says meteorologist Willemsen.

A white Christmas in Brabant is unlikely. “The forecast really indicates temperatures that are too warm.” The last white Christmas was in 2010. On Christmas Day there was 5 to 20 cm of snow in much of the country. Winter showers continued to fall on Boxing Day. The temperature then rose above freezing, causing the thickness of the snow to decrease rapidly.
