HackerOne user “Zhirinovksiy” said last January that he discovered a vulnerability in Twitter that allowed users’ phone numbers and email addresses to be stolen from the service. At the time, there were no signs that the vulnerability had been exploited. However, the vulnerability was apparently exploited, because now a list of millions of these pieces of information has appeared on the dark web.
