FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) – The Deutsche Bundesbank has no objections to a second term in office for Vice President Claudia Buch. The board of directors of the central bank did not raise any objections at a hearing and is looking forward to further cooperation, the Bundesbank announced on Thursday in Frankfurt. The 56-year-old has been a member of the Bundesbank Executive Board since May 2014 and is responsible, among other things, for the areas of financial stability and statistics.
The federal government had proposed Buch for a second term. The official appointment is made by the Federal President.
The Bundesbank Executive Board consists of six members. The Bundesrat and the Federal Government each propose three of them. The term of office is set at eight years in the Bundesbank law./mar/DP/jsl
