The police have arrested a second suspect for causing an explosion in an apartment complex in Oosterwolde. It concerns a 21-year-old man from the Frisian village, reports Omrop Friesland. Because he was injured in the blast and is being treated for this, he is not detained.
Earlier, a 26-year-old man from Oosterwolde was arrested for possible involvement. He has also been released, the two have received an official report, the police report.
The explosion happened on Saturday around 6 p.m. on the top floor of an apartment complex on Glijenham. The building was severely damaged; cracks have appeared in the side wall and the facade has come out. All twenty residents of the thirteen homes were evacuated.
Investigations by experts showed that the building is unsafe for now. Just like the past two nights, the residents will have to sleep elsewhere in the coming period. Replacement housing is arranged for them. The police cannot enter the building for investigation because it is too unsafe.
