Second hottest day ever in West Flanders

The RMI had announced code red in West Flanders today. The measured temperature in Koksijde is currently 37.7 °C. “For the official results, it will be more likely to be 38 to 39 degrees. We also note high temperatures at the French border,” says weatherman David Dehenauw.

The hottest day ever in our province was on July 25, 2019. Then it was about 40 degrees in Koksijde.

In general, there is a new daily record. In Uccle it was 36.4 °C. The old record in 2006 was 36.2 °C. The final result will not be known until later.

Extreme temperatures

According to another source, these are the maximum temperatures in West Flanders, measured at 5 p.m. Sint-Joris, in Beernem, takes the cake there with 38.9 °C.
