Second-hand marketplace Vinted expands to Sweden

The Lithuanian second-hand marketplace operator Vinted UAB has further expanded its international presence. On Tuesday, the company announced that the digital C2C platform for used clothing has now also been launched in Sweden. According to a statement, Vinted is represented for the first time in a Scandinavian country.

In addition to the recent market entries in Hungary and Slovakia, the expansion into Sweden is also “part of a broad-based growth strategy,” said Vinted. Overall, the second-hand platform is now represented in 17 countries in Europe and North America and claims to have more than 75 million registered users.

Adam Jay, CEO of Vinted Marketplace, explained the strategic background of the latest expansion step: “Entering the Nordic countries with the start in Sweden is an exciting milestone on our growth path because we recognized that the Swedes are tech-savvy and committed to a circular economy are interested.” He therefore assumes that the latest market entry will be “a great success”, according to Jay.
