Second chance: Arket relies on resale

Arket launches its own resale platform.

With the brand belonging to the Swedish clothing group Hennes & Mauritz AB (H&M), another fashion company is now joining the resale market, Arket announced on Wednesday. The brand has set up a resale program called ‘Arket Archive’ on its website.

The project was launched together with ‘Archive’, a digital platform that offers resale options for brands. Users should have the opportunity to list their discarded Arket pieces for sale or to buy them from other members. The payment is made in money or a voucher for the online store.

“We want to promote circular thinking and serve members of our community for whom buying used goods is as natural as buying new,” said Ville Klemming, Head of Growth and Sustainability at Arket. “Our collections are designed to last, so it makes perfect sense for us to offer a resale platform exclusively for our items. With Arket Archive, we hope to integrate resale as a natural part of our customer experience.”

‘Arket Archive’ is available now on the brand’s website.
