From 9 a.m. Monday, January 10, private homeowners in the earthquake zone can apply for a subsidy of up to 10,000 euros to improve and make their homes more sustainable. The subsidy can be requested from the Northern Netherlands Partnership (SNN). This is the second and last opportunity to apply for this grant. The SNN and the client Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK) advise owners to prepare well.

Quality boost to housing stock

The subsidy is for residential buildings in the earthquake zone that are not part of the reinforcement programme. Homes in the zip code area where the depreciation scheme applies or homes with the zip code 9679, 9681 and 9682 are eligible for the subsidy. The subsidy is part of the administrative agreements made by the central government and the region on 6 November 2020. The aim is to give a quality boost to the housing stock in the earthquake area. With this subsidy, owners can carry out overdue maintenance and make their home more sustainable and improve. €220.8 million is available for this latest subsidy round.

Digital Queue

Owners can apply for a subsidy up to a maximum of 10,000 euros and do not have to use their own money for the improvements they want to make to their home.

SNN and BZK expect a lot of interest in the subsidy. SNN is prepared for this as well as possible and has taken various precautions. One of these is working with a digital queue, so that applications are automatically processed in the order of arrival. Owners can already prepare their application by already creating an account on the SNN website and have the supplies for the application ready digitally.

In order to submit an application, the applicant needs the following:

  • A quote, invoice or global cost overview;
  • A copy of a bank card or bank statement;
  • A working DigiD.

For more information and conditions, see: www.snn.nl/vvg10000.

There are various persons and companies that offer assistance for a fee in applying for the subsidy. These are not employees of the National Coordinator Groningen (NCG), the municipality, the Northern Netherlands Partnership (SNN) or the Regional Energy Desk. These parties sometimes also ask for private data such as a DigiD. They are absolutely not allowed to do this. If applicants want to authorize someone to make the application for them, they can. The authorized representative can then log in with his own DigiD and does not need that of the applicant. If applicants need help with their application, they can also contact SNN. These employees can assist applicants for free.
