Which players of the North Holland professional teams have done the best in the first half of the season? Every week there is a lot of discussion about this in our football talk show De Aftrap. During the winter break we will take stock. Who has been on our team the longest? What is striking: Ajax top scorer Sébastien Haller and AZ attacker Jesper Karlsson are missing!
Since the beginning of August, the guests at the table have been determining what the FC De Aftrap team should look like in their eyes. Since then, there have been two changes every week.
“Robert (Mühren, ed.) is stuck with a nail”
Only two players managed to keep their starting spot during all episodes: Ajax defender Jurríën Timber was always there, just like FC Volendam striker Robert Mühren. Although comedian Peter Heerschop threatened to remove the nephew of presenter Jack Mühren from the board in the last episode. Jack Mühren: “Robert is stuck with a nail!”
Ajax purveyor
Ajax is purveyor to the court with six players. FC Volendam, winter champion in the first division, is also well represented with four football players. Owen Wijndal is the only one from AZ to keep the Alkmaar honor high. “He should be one hundred percent in a North Holland team,” said ESPN analyst and former football player Marciano Vink.
Telstar is not completely missing. Trainer Andries Jonker gets the appreciation of the guests for the work he does with minimal resources in Velsen-Zuid. Former coach Foppe de Haan appointed the Amsterdammer as trainer of FC De Aftrap to encourage him. “It is a very difficult job at Telstar”, the Frisian defended his choice.
Haller and Karlsson
The fact that Haller and Karlsson are missing is surprising. The Swede loses to Tadic on the left flank. According to former Ajax player Keje Molenaar, Tadic is “one of the best acquisitions of Ajax of the last thirty years.”
“Dusan Tadic is one of the best acquisitions of Ajax of the last thirty years”
Karlsson comes to three base places in the first half of the season. Haller recently made his debut in FC De Aftrap, thanks to fellow strikers Michiel Kramer and Jack Tuijp. Kramer let Mühren drop a line, after which Tuijp put Haller on ‘9’. “Technically it is quite limited, but look at its return”, says Tuijp.
Over twenty episodes, these are the players who were most often in the starting line-up:
