Sebastian Vettel ends up in the emergency exit

The start of the Grand Prix in Baku was anything but smooth for the German drivers. While Sebastian Vettel had problems with the brakes on the first day of practice, Mick Schumacher had to park his Haas early.

At the start of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc raised hopes of his first triumph in two months. The Monegasque turned the fastest lap in Friday practice with 1:43.224 minutes and was more than two tenths of a second ahead of second-placed Monaco winner Sergio Perez (Red Bull).

Perez, who won the race on the Caspian Sea last year, was a tenth of a second faster than world champion and teammate Max Verstappen. The Dutchman wants to finish on the podium in Baku for the first time in the race on Sunday (from 1 p.m. in the t-online live ticker).

Vettel in eleventh place

Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) finished the practice session in eleventh place and had to take one of the emergency exits shortly after the start of the second practice session. A little later, he was informed via the team radio that the brakes were not yet at the right temperature.
