Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is out for the remainder of the NFL season.
As his team announced on Tuesday, an MRI scan confirmed a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament in Murray’s right knee. Murray will have to sit out for around half a year, if the healing process goes well he could start again in the pre-season.
The 25-year-old playmaker went down in the game against the New England Patriots (13:27) in the first attack without opposition and was then transported to the catacombs.
Murray had just returned from a hamstring injury. Under backup quarterback Colt McCoy, the Cardinals suffered their third consecutive defeat, and with just four wins from 13 games, the Glendale franchise has no realistic chance of making the playoffs.
Murray, the 2019 draft pick, is in his fourth season in the NFL.
