Season 5 is streaming NOW on Netflix

The dramedy series “Cobra Kai” continues: Netflix released the fifth season today (September 9th). The series is considered a continuation of the film series “Karate Kid”, the trilogy of which was released in the 1980s.

The characters Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) and Mike Barnes (Sean Kanan) return in the new season. They were already the main antagonists in “Karate Kid III”. Chozen (Yuji Okumoto) also shows up again – albeit on the side of the good guys.

The plot directly follows the events of season four: Terry Silver expands his karate empire after getting rid of Kreese. But he soon finds himself in trouble when Tory learns that Terry bribed a referee at the tournament. Meanwhile, Johnny Lawrence turns his back on martial arts and seeks to undo the damage he’s caused. Daniel LaRusso turns to an old friend for support: Chozen Toguchi.

Episodes usually last 30 to 40 minutes. Whether a sixth season will appear is still unknown, but according to the plot it would be likely.
