The police found the body of a deceased man in the Máxima Canal in Rosmalen on Sunday afternoon. She takes into account that it concerns the missing Joost van Balsfoort (76).
Van Balsfoort has been missing since Saturday night. He had left his house on Orpheusstraat on his electric bicycle. On Sunday morning, the police came with the message that he was officially missing.
A search was then launched by the police, the veterans search team and Rijkswaterstaat. That resulted in the discovery of the body on Sunday afternoon.
Bike found
His bicycle had been found a little earlier on the Paulinapad, next to the Máxima Canal. It was then already taken into account that the man could be found in the water.
The police do not believe that a crime has been committed.
