Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sitting in the metropolitan detention center for almost a year. The initial fears about prisoner violence in the notorious jail in the Brooklyn district have not come true for him. But the rap mogul, which is otherwise in the luxury, wants to get rid of his institutional gap as soon as possible.

Coms still threatens a prison sentence

Now US federal judge Arun Subramanian rejected his application for release until the judgment on October 3 for the second time on Monday (August 4). Combs and his legal team apparently could not convincingly demonstrate that there is no escape risk or that he is also not a danger to the public – especially in view of his history of domestic violence.

Combs was arrested in September 2024. The 55-year-old was acquitted in the trial of the heaviest allegations-including sex trade and criminal conspiracy. Nevertheless, the jury owed him guilty in two cases for “promoting prostitution”. He now threatens a long -term prison sentence.

In her extensive application Combs’ lawyers offered a deposit of $ 50 million and referred to allegedly poor prison conditions and the responsibility of the seven-fold father to his family. It was also argued that the application of the so -called “man act” (a law that suspects “sex trade”) was legally questionable.

But the judge stayed with his line and referred to the “severity of the allegations” and Combs’ violent behavior in private relationships.

In his reasoning, judge Subramanian also dealt with the role of Combs’ former partners, including musician Cassie Ventura and another woman who was led under the pseudonym “Jane” in the process. Both reported on physical and mental violence.

The sentence against Sean Combs

Ex-girlfriend Gina Huynh, who had publicly levied allegations against Combs, spoke out in a letter to the court for his release-but without responding to specific incidents. The public prosecutor contradicted the impression that Combs had changed fundamentally and spoke of further violent incidents in recent years.

Combs’ lawyers are currently hoping for a mild sentence of a maximum of 27 months, listing that he has already been in custody for 11 months. The public prosecutor, on the other hand, moves at least 51 months to 20 years in prison, depending on the interpretation of the applicable criminal guidelines.

The sentence against Sean Combs is to be announced on October 3, 2025.
