And what is the ending of Sea outside?
Sea outside 4Edoardo Conte in the new episodes
To understand what happens and why, it is useful to go back in time to the end of the third season. Edward (Matteo Paolillo) he is the victim of an ambush organized by Don Salvatore Ricci (Raiz). He has always been his trusted man, but Don Salvatore had to sacrifice him to reach an important agreement with Donna Wanda Di Salvo (Pia Lanciotti). That is, the division of the drug dealing squares in Naples with the consequent truce between the clans. Donna Wanda agreed, on the condition that she get rid of Conte.
After a long hospital stay, Edoardo has reopened his eyes and the fourth season opens with his convalescence. At his bedside is his wife Carmela (Giovanna Sannino), who encourages him to get back into strength and above all to make his way through the Camorra. Moreover, Don Salvatore Ricci was also admitted to the hospitalinjured after the clash with his daughter Rosa (Maria Esposito) at the Mirabilis swimming pool.
It’s the right opportunity for him and Carmela. Now Edward has the chance to eliminate his mentor, but also the one who betrayed him. And begin his climb with the aim of “taking Naples”. The words of Commander Massimo (Carmine Recano) are of no use, as he tries to dissuade him and take him on the right path. So one night he sneaks into Don Salvatore’s room and strangles him.
Edoardo divided between Carmela and Teresa
The only one who knows the truth is Carmela, satisfied with her husband’s work. In her life, however, there are also those who try to change his mind and above all his life. She is Teresa (Ludovica Coscione), the lover with whom he is madly in love and unaware of everything. He gets him hired in his father’s company and so, once his convalescence is over, Edoardo can leave the IPM to go to work.
He is welcomed – albeit reluctantly – by Teresa’s family. They are bourgeois, they are part of the good Naples and they consider the other part of Naples, the one to which Edoardo belongs, a world from which to keep their distance. Well, for the love of their daughter – stubborn and stubborn – they make themselves available and try to change it. They seem to succeed, because suddenly Edoardo makes an important choice, which demonstrates courage, maturity and a sense of responsibility.
Everything goes well until Carmela tells him that she is about to leave Naples. She will take her son Ciro with her and will support herself thanks to Don Salvatore Ricci’s money. Rosa has come to his rescue, determined to start a new life with Carmine (Massimiliano Caiazzo). She doesn’t care about the family’s money and she knows that Carmela will need it, so she tells her where to find it.
Sea outside 4the explanation of the ending (with spoilers)
For Carmela it is a decisive moment. She is power-hungry, but above all he wants to get Edoardo back at any cost. And he knows that he can leverage the money. She puts him before a choice: leave Teresa and return to her. Edoardo is conflicted. On the one hand, a future with Teresa is what she wants. On the other hand, becoming the new Don Salvatore is what she has always dreamed of. When he is one step away from starting a new page, the call of the underworld is stronger.
He leaves Teresa and goes to the cemetery where Don Salvatore rests. That’s where the Ricci money was hidden. He approaches the loot pompously, but he doesn’t know that shortly before Donna Wanda showed Rosa a film that frames him. It was he who killed Don Salvatore and for Rosa, who has always considered him a brother just as she has always considered Carmela a sister, it is an unacceptable shame. Conte arrives in front of the chapel and finds it open. There are banknotes scattered everywhere. He begins to collect them, but he is hit in the head and falls into a ditch.
The blood runs down the sides of his temples as he imagines Teresa’s face. A few moments later Edward dies. Who killed him? In the cemetery there is Rosa, who left Carmine at the altar just before getting married, but there are also Cucciolo (Francesco Panarella) and Micciarella (Giuseppe Pirozzi). The two brothers are there because they are custodians of an unspeakable secret.
Edoardo Conte is not the only one to leave the scene. In fact, in the fifth episode, Alfredo D’Angelo dies (Giuseppe Tantillo). The lawyer affiliated with the Ricci clan, Don Salvatore’s operational arm and Silvia’s betrothed (Clotilde Esposito) is killed by a gunshot at the entrance to the cemetery.
The shooter is Micciarella. After weeks of nightmares, the boy remembers having killed him in front of the cemetery. He knows that the money is hidden there and rushes to the place with Cucciolo, with whom he dreams of a future in the underworld. The fifth season will start from here: from Edoardo’s deathfrom the potential takeover of the Di Meo brothers and, above all, since Rosa’s arrival at the command of the clan.
