Images in Gees is on sale for an amount of almost 1.6 million euros. It is not known why the current owners want to sell the sculpture garden. The website states that the garden is closed and has been put on display ‘due to circumstances’.
Images in Gees started in 1991 under the leadership of Arjaan and Hieke de Hullu. Artists from the Netherlands and abroad presented their work in the garden and gallery in Gees. The cultural attraction attracted 20,000 to 25,000 visitors annually.
The sculpture garden was awarded the Cultural Prize of Drenthe in 2001. After 21 years they sold the garden in 2011. Hielke de Hullu passed away in 2019 at the age of 85
Both the current owners and the estate agent could not be reached for comment
In addition to the sculpture garden (located on a plot of almost 70,000 square meters), the sale includes an art gallery with catering space, a workshop and a home.
