A collision took place at the railway crossing on the Kerkhoflaan in Emmen this afternoon. The 17-year-old scooter rider from Emmen died on the spot from his injuries, the police reported.
Due to the accident, train traffic between Emmen and Zwolle was halted until about 9:30 p.m.
The police report that it is not yet clear how exactly the collision could have happened. They speak to witnesses and traffic specialists are investigating.
