Schwazer at Big Brother, 6th week of training: the analysis

The point on the last days of work of the marcher in the House, with focus on the most intense phases of the various sessions

With the training on October 22nd, Alex Schwazer concluded his sixth week of training inside the Home of the Big Brother. A week always characterized by high loadsbut also more painful than the previous ones due to the tiredness accumulated in forty days of double sessions, regularly alternating the walking on the treadmill in the morning and the I work on the elliptical bike in the afternoon.

Over the course of these weeks, there have also been some variations in his work patterns: from time to time, Alex has favored both duration that theintensity of the planned programs. Even in the last seven days in which the South Tyrolean walker has carried out six double consecutive training sessions (from Saturday 14 October to Thursday 19 October, before the rest day of Friday 20 October) its great willpower in being able to complete the established programmes. This despite the accumulated efforts, also overcoming the further difficulty of some gastrointestinal pain that tormented him last Saturday.

Let’s take a look at some of the workouts from the last week in detail:

  • Meanwhile the heating on Tapis Roulant. After having marched in previous weeks at 5′-5’10” per km, Alex dropped to 4’50”-5′ per km in all sessions carried out in the last seven days;
  • In the usual training of fartlek, the walker managed to complete 20′ of work alternating 20 variations of one minute at 3’45” per km with a recovery of one minute at 4’30” per km. Basically completing almost 5 km;
  • Other notable fartlek work was the 40′ with large speed variations of 30 x 20″ marching between 18 and 19 km/hwith one minute of slow recovery;
  • As regards the work on the elliptical bikeAlex extended the duration of the block at medium intensity with frequencies of 150-160 beats per minute, completing 50 minutes of work.
