In his first appearance on the starting lineup, the 28-year-old was the clear leader of his teammates, directing almost all attacks and recording 23 points, nine assists and six rebounds himself. At one point, the Rockets had a 12-point lead against the current best NBA team, but made too many simple mistakes and lost.
Schröder only came to Texas from the Boston Celtics in a trade for Daniel Theis last week and had clearly had adjustment problems on his debut two days earlier against the Utah Jazz.
For the Celtics, a series of nine wins ended with a 111:112 against the Detroit Pistons. Theis had four points and three rebounds in just under 16 minutes.
At the top of the Eastern Conference are the Chicago Bulls again, who recorded their fifth win in a row in a 125:118 win against the Sacramento Kings. The Orlando Magic with Berlin’s Franz Wagner lost to the Atlanta Hawks 109:130. Wagner scored twelve points in his last game before traveling to Cleveland for the All-Star Weekend. There, the NBA newcomer can take part in the mini-tournament for the best young players on Friday.
