Irene Schouten fulfilled her favorite role in the 3,000 meters at the Olympic Games in Beijing on Saturday by winning gold. The Dutch beat Francesca Lollobrigida (silver) and Isabelle Weidemann (bronze) in the National Speed Skating Oval, where Antoinette de Jong and Carlijn Achtereekte missed out on the podium.
