Schoonoord is preparing for the first Giant Walking Tour. A large part of the proceeds goes to the ALS foundation

Schoonoord is preparing for the first edition of the Giant Walking Tour on Saturday 7 May. A large part of the proceeds will be donated to the ALS foundation.

The local hiking association SEO has already had to postpone the event twice because of corona: initially the tour would be run on May 9, 2020 and then on October 24, 2020.

A large part of the proceeds of this first edition is intended for the ALS foundation. The money will be used for research into the origin of this serious disease and for a medicine to slow down or even cure this disease.

Four distances

The start is at the KSC canteen. Participants can choose from the distances 5, 10, 20 and 30 kilometers. Hikers largely walk through the woods in the vicinity of Schoonoord. There are aid stations along the way. The registration fee, including one drink, is 12.50 euros for adults. Children from 4 to 12 years pay 5 euros, members of the KWBN pay 11 euros.

You can register via this website via an email to [email protected] or at the start on the day itself.

Those who do not participate, but would like to donate to the ALS foundation, can do so via this link (choose ‘walking association SEO’).
