A former American college football player is suspected of a school shooting in the United States.

According to ESPN three players on the University of Virginia team were killed when an ex-player opened fire late Sunday night. Two students were wounded in the school shooting. One of them is in critical condition.

The police arrested the 22-year-old suspect on Monday. He is charged with three counts of murder and three counts of using a handgun to commit a felony.

The suspect played for the University of Virginia team in 2018.

President of the University of Virginia Jim Ryan’s according to the report, the shooting took place on a charter bus when the students were returning from a class trip. The students had gone to see the play and eaten together before the shooting incident.

– This is a sad, shocking and tragic day for the university community. I see our students as my own children. I can’t imagine anything worse than a parent losing a child, Ryan commented.

The failed players represented the university’s team, the Cavaliers. The team was naturally shocked by the events.

– I cannot find words to describe the shock and heartache that our team is experiencing after the tragic events. They were amazing young men with big goals and a very bright future. They left too soon, coach Tony Elliott comment.

The ex-player’s father heard about the events after the police called him.

– I don’t know what else to say other than that I’m sorry for him. I apologize.

A gun at school

The university already received a tip in September that an ex-player said he was carrying a gun on campus.

It later turned out that he was accused of hiding weapons in 2021. The man did not tell the university about the charges.

The ex-player also joined the cheating investigation.

Thousands of students and employees remembered the dead at the university on Monday. A 15-minute silence was observed on campus.
