With this goal, the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditara has developed a very incisive provision that intervenes on the vote in conduct and on disciplinary suspensions and amend existing legislation.

Meanwhile, it is established that the conduct mark is assigned with reference to the entire school year, and that “particular emphasis must be given in the assessment to any acts of aggression against teachers, all school staff and students”. The grade will affect the credits for admission to the final exam.
In lower secondary schools, the evaluation of behavior will no longer be expressed with a judgment but with a numerical mark, out of tenths.
It remains valid that with a 5 in conduct you are rejected. But while until yesterday the 5 was given only for serious acts of violence or crimes, from today it will be enough to violate the Institute Regulations in a serious and repeated way. Who is promoted with the 6, will be postponed to September in Civic Education.
Suspension chapter. According to Minister Valditara, they don’t work as they are. So, up to 2 days, the student will be involved «in activities of reflection and study on issues related to the behaviors that caused the suspension (and will be evaluated for this). Over the two days, the student will have to carry out “solidarity citizenship” activities in affiliated structures. And, if the teachers deem it appropriate, these activities can be extended even beyond the end of the suspension.
