The risk of Russia using nuclear weapons in the war in Ukraine has diminished thanks to international pressure on President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said in an interview published today with Germany’s Funke media group. “One thing has changed for now: Russia has stopped threatening nuclear weapons in response to the fact that the international community has drawn a red line.”
