Ballermann star Melanie Müller played a concert in Leipzig on September 17th. A video of the evening has now been released on social media, showing men in the audience raising their right arms and shouting “Sieg Heil!”. The singer then canceled the concert.

“There was hooting with clear right-wing extremist ideas”

Now Müller commented on the incident in an Instagram story. The performance took place as part of an Oktoberfest. When she heard the men’s shouts, she immediately pointed out that she should refrain from doing this – but that didn’t happen. “During my performance there were loud statements, jeers with clear right-wing extremist and National Socialist ideas. After there were more calls of this kind during my song, I stopped the performance immediately,” says the singer.

She further stated that she was “deeply dismayed and outraged” by the incident and that she wanted nothing to do with right-wing extremism. She said: “I would like to clearly distance myself from these people and such ideas. If I had known what kind of visitors would come to my concert, I would have canceled it immediately”.

Müller won in 2014 in the TV show “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!”, then in the TV series “Celebrity Big Brother”. To date, she has only released single singles. Most recently, the party hit song “Hauptsache knallt” was released on August 25th.
