Schiphol puts BAM to work to complete the A-pier finishing job | Financial

Schiphol previously decided “after intensive consultation” to break with the previous contractor, a combination of construction group Ballast Nedam and TAV. The construction of the pier involved higher costs and also took longer than planned.

Benschop

Schiphol boss Dick Benschop had previously indicated that he would have “difficult conversations” about the issue with the previous builders. The pier should have been completed by the end of 2019. Schiphol did not say how big the delay was and how much more expensive the construction was already.

BAM will start work in September. Initially, the builder and client will make a schedule and determine what the costs will be.
