Schindzielorz compares VfL Wolfsburg & VfL Bochum – is Ridle Baku going?

Does Baku go in the summer?

Sebastian Schindzielorz worked in the management of VfL Bochum for seven and a half years before he left there last August. The 44-year-old has been working at VfL Wolfsburg since February, where he ended his active career from 2008 to 2013. In the “kicker” interview, he spoke about the different requirements at the two clubs. In general, these are “the same” on the transfer market, but: “The biggest difference lies in the player profile that we are looking for here. We want to attract more young players with potential to Wolfsburg so that we can develop them further with our great opportunities.”

When asked about the significantly greater economic opportunities for the Werkself, Schindzielorz replied that there were also “economic conditions” in Wolfsburg that “we have to adhere to”. In general, however, he had to state that the infrastructure at Lower Saxony’s VfL was on a “different level”: “The Ruhr Stadium is great, but it’s also getting old, the training opportunities here in Wolfsburg are completely different.”

The fact that he was relegated from sporting director to sports director under Marcel Schäfer is not a problem for him, said Schindzielorz, who relies on teamwork: “I dealt with this question intensively in advance. I have clearly defined that I see myself as a team player. I’m convinced that the development of the clubs is going even more in the direction of teamwork than it already is. In this constellation, it was important to me to have a personal connection and a relationship of trust with the managing director. That is given with Marcel Schäfer.”

Ridle Baku at VfL Wolfsburg only joker recently: change in summer?

A task that Schindzielorz and Schäfer might have to tackle is that of national player Ridle Baku’s future. The 25-year-old winger has a contract until 2025 and is one of the most valuable players in the squad at 13 million euros, but has had an increasingly difficult time in recent weeks. In the past five games, Baku was only once in the starting XI and was substituted in the 60th minute in the 2-2 draw against Augsburg.

Not only was U21 national player Kilian Fischer (22) in the lead recently. When he missed the 0-0 draw against Bayer Leverkusen, Jakub Kaminski (20), actually the left winger, was given preference over Baku by Niko Kovac on the right back. This increased the “probability of a change in the summer again,” wrote the “Kicker”. In the TM rumor mill, Baku was recently associated with Arsenal, like so many other professionals with Chelsea, FC Villarreal and RB Leipzig.

We think he would be a good addition to the right flank. We currently only have Henrichs there. Simakan will be scheduled for more than IV again and Klostermann will probably be allowed to go with the right offer. …
