Final against VfB Stuttgart
For the first time since 2002, the junior footballers at FC Schalke 04 are German B-Junior champions. In the final on Sunday, the Royal Blues defeated the talented VfB Stuttgart 3-2 (0-0, 1-1) on penalties. It is the third B-Junior title for the Gelsenkirchen team. The Swabians took the lead thanks to captain Jan-Carlo Simic (54′) before Tristan Osmani equalized ten minutes later in front of their home crowd.
Schalke then had the slightly better nerves from the point. While they only missed twice, the Stuttgart team missed three times. It was attacking midfielder Osmani who converted the winning attempt on penalties.
