Wants to stay in Germany
Midfielder Tom Krauss doesn’t yet know who he’ll play for next season after leaving his loan spell FC Schalke 04. “That is still unclear,” said the 21-year-old in an interview sky. The Royal Blues said goodbye to a large number of professionals after being relegated to the Bundesliga – including Krauss, who is still under contract with RB Leipzig until 2025. Only if he stayed up in the league would he have been obliged to buy 3 million euros.
“Nor is it my goal that I have to be asked every year what my future looks like. We are in good talks, at least my advisors. But I also said I want to focus on the European Championship (with the U21s; ed.). No matter what is happening around. (…) Then you will find a time when you say where I’m going,” Krauss continued.

England is “an issue at some point, but not now”. The junior national player explained: “I don’t feel ready for it and I’m still very young, I want to develop further, I’m not doing everything great yet and the most important thing is to play.” The Leipzig native did this at Schalke 33 times in the past season. “That has to be the case at the respective club. I have to feel ready for it.” He wants to stay in Germany. “Then let’s see where it goes.”
What comes after Schalke? Krauss theme in Mainz, Gladbach and Frankfurt
As part of his departure from S04, Krauss, whose market value before the upcoming Bundesliga update is EUR 6 million, “shed a tear or two. I felt extremely comfortable, the team was great and on Saturday (the last day of the game; ed.) we had hope that we could still make it.” Recently, the right-footed player has been associated with Mainz 05 and Borussia Mönchengladbach in particular, too there was talk of an interest from Eintracht Frankfurt.
