For the fourth time in a row, FC Schalke 04 could have won a home game in the 2nd Bundesliga on Saturday – but things turned out differently. The “Knappen” lost a two-goal lead against SC Paderborn, but ultimately still scored. In the end it was 3:3 (1:0).

But Schalke had the last word. Top talent Keke Topp shook the stadium with a fine individual action (90th +2).
Kiel marches on – Hanover misses third place
At the top of the table, Holstein Kiel has taken the next step towards promotion to the Bundesliga. The “Storks” beat Karlsruher SC at home 1-0 (0-0). Lewis Holtby (57th) scored the goal of the day in the second half. With 46 points, Kiel now only has two fewer than leaders St. Pauli. The Hamburg team will play against Hertha BSC on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Hannover 96 missed the jump to third place. In the end, Lower Saxony only managed a 1-1 (1-0) draw against newly promoted Wehen Wiesbaden. Ivan Prtajin shocked 96 in the first half (33rd) with his 9th goal of the season. Hannover came back in the second half through Andreas Voglsammer. The striker scored less than two minutes after coming on as a substitute (54′). 96 pressed for victory. But coach Stefan Leitl’s team didn’t want to score a goal.
Hannover is now fifth with 39 points, but remains within striking distance of third place in relegation. HSV remains there with 41 points, followed by Fortuna Düsseldorf with 40.
