Striker is without a club
FC Schalke 04 could soon flock their jerseys with an internationally prominent name. According to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, Jordan Larsson (25), son of Sweden’s football icon Henrik Larsson, is about to move to S04. It is said that there is fundamental agreement. The center forward is expected in Gelsenkirchen for a medical check and signature shortly. The Royal Blues (again) do not have to pay a fee for the commitment.

Larsson moved to Spartak Moscow in Russia for 4 million euros in 2019, but did not return at the end of a loan to AIK Solna after the past season. The contract was terminated by mutual agreement, the club said at the end of June. For Schalke, it would be the 15th new signing (including a permanent loan player) and another free transfer deal that keeps the transfer balance in the black thanks to sales worth millions, for example from Ozan Kabak (22) or Rabbi Matondo (21) (all Schalke transfers in the overview ).
Should it really come to that, you can really just take your hat off to Mr. Schröder. What a squad he made and still generated a transfer surplus. Many good and free transfers. Kral and possibly Larsson too, I can’t believe it. …
In Russia, Larsson’s market value had climbed to a career high of €15m after the move and two seasons with a decent goal tally by 2021. The fact that the former regular player slipped more and more into the reserve role at Spartak last season and was finally loaned to Sweden as part of the special transfer window set up by FIFA caused the rating to fall significantly by EUR 7 million to EUR 8 million now. Even with this rating, Larsson would be the most valuable player Schalke has brought in since the Bundesliga relegation season or the return to the top flight.
