Move to Sweden
Michael Martin is leaving SC Paderborn after just six months. As the second division team announced on Friday, the 23-year-old is moving to IK Sirius in the Swedish top flight. He will receive a contract there until the end of 2028. The transfer window in Sweden opens on February 1st.
Martin only moved to Paderborn from the Austrian second division club SV Ried in the summer, but did not play once for the professionals there. Instead, he played four times for the reserve team, which competes in the Regionalliga West. “Michael would like to achieve more playing time in the professional sector, which we cannot currently guarantee him. After intensive discussions, we found a good solution for all parties. We wish Michael much success for his future path,” said Paderborn’s managing director Benjamin Weber.
