Defending champion SC Magdeburg celebrated its second win in a row in the Handball Champions League against Polish club Wisla Plock.
In Plock, coach Bennet Wiegert’s team prevailed on Thursday with 28:26 (14:12).
The SCM started the game well, quickly led by five goals, but failed to pull away further. Plock came back and kept the game open until the final minutes. The most successful thrower for the guests was Felix Claar with nine hits.
With the win, Magdeburg moved up to fourth place in the table. The great pressure after two defeats at the start against top opponents Telekom Veszprem and FC Barcelona has now disappeared for the time being. In the Bundesliga, the SCM is currently in third place behind Kiel and Melsungen.
