Hamm (AP) – Bundesliga table leader SC Magdeburg has reached the quarter-finals in the DHB Cup. In the round of 16, the Elbestädter prevailed at second division ASV Hamm-Westfalen with 31:26 (13:14).
The best throwers from Magdeburg were Daniel Pettersson and Michael Damgaard with six goals each, while Jan von Boenigk was the most successful for Hamm with five goals.
The SCM needed some time to get into the game. There was a first lead after seven minutes (6: 5). The game was even then, also because the SCM hit the post several times. On both sides, the throw rate was only 52 percent, at halftime the hosts were leading.
