Among market value winners
SC Freiburg have retained right-back Kiliann Sildillia despite interest from other clubs. The Breisgauer announced this on Monday, as usual without announcing a new term. The 20-year-old’s contract was previously dated until the summer of 2024. Sildillia was one of the winners in the Bundesliga’s most recent interim market value update and increased by EUR 3 million to EUR 12 million, making it one of the top 5 most valuable SC professionals.
“With quality, patience and humility, Kiliann has earned a permanent place in our team. It’s nice to see that these attributes can always lead to our goal. His duel strength, his objectivity and his flexibility characterize him in particular. Now we’re working together to further sharpen his profile,” explained sporting director Klemens Hartenbach about the right-footed player, in whom Bayer Leverkusen, among others, is said to have been interested.

The Frenchman added: “When I came to Freiburg from Metz, we had a common plan. This plan worked in every respect. Now I want to further improve my game and work together with the boys at the highest possible level.” Sildillia came to Freiburg from his home country on a free transfer in the summer of 2020 and worked his way up from the second team to the professionals, for whom he made his debut in October 2021 . This season he established himself in the starting eleven of coach Christian Streich.
