SC Freiburg II draws against Viktoria Cologne, Football | 3rd League – SWR – Regional

After the 1:1 against the Würzburger Kickers SC coach Thomas Stamm introduced three new players to the starting XI last match day: Philipp Treu, Claudio Kammerknecht and Sascha Risch (all from the bench) came on Hugo Siquet, Killian Sildillia and Julius Tauriainen.

Freiburg with an early goal

SC Freiburg started concentrated and powerful and took the lead after just five minutes. Patrick Kammerbauer headed the ball to Lars Kehl, who scored from five yards. After the opening goal, the sports club did not let up. Hugo Siquet, who trains with the pros and is supposed to gather game practice in the second team, put an unfortunate cross on the crossbar. Just a few minutes later, Yannik Engelhardt’s shot on target hit the post. After that, the SC remained dangerous with its fast switching game. The Cologne team had more possession in the meantime, but this did not result in a shot on goal.

Goal for Cologne

Cologne played more courageously after the break and quickly got their reward: Freiburg’s Julius Tauriainen got the ball on his outstretched arm in his own penalty area. Simon Handle converted the penalty. This made the game more even with chances for both teams. For example, Cologne goalkeeper Elias Bördner made a strong save in the 73rd minute against Vincent Vermeij. About ten minutes later, Vermeij’s header went just wide of the post to the right. So the 1-1 draw on Friday evening at the Dreisamstadion remained.
