Hoffenheim fall behind
In courting Wilfried Gnonto, a favorite has apparently emerged. As the Edited by Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio reported, SC Freiburg currently has the best chance of signing the 18-year-old attacker from FC Zurich. TSG Hoffenheim was therefore falling behind.

The Swiss champions are asking €10m for the Italy international’s services, which would be in line with his current market value. Gnonto’s working paper in Zurich is still valid for one year. The right foot had recently climbed to the top of the league in terms of market value in the Super League update after a revaluation of 4 million euros.

Should Gnonto decide to move to Breisgau, Hoffenheim would be left behind by new coach André Breitenreiter. The 48-year-old was – together with Gnonto – the architect of the Zurich championship title and would like to work with his ex-protégé again. Under the native of Lower Saxony, the youngster played 36 games and collected 15 points.
Gnonto had recently made his debut against Germany in the Nations League for Italy’s A-Elf and scored his first international goal in the second encounter when the DFB team made it 5-2.
