The two board members Jochen Saier and Oliver Leki have extended their contracts at SC Freiburg ahead of schedule. The new working papers are valid until 2027, as the Bundesliga club announced on Monday. Saier is responsible for the entire sporting area, Leki is responsible for the areas of finance, organization and marketing.

Saier has worked full-time for the sports club since 2002 and headed the club’s football school from 2003 to 2013. He then took over the position of sports director together with Klemens Hartenbach before being appointed sports director in October 2014. Leki came to the Südbadenern ten years ago. He has been a member of the supervisory board and executive committee of the German Football League (DFL) since August 2019. Together with Eintracht Frankfurt’s board spokesman Axel Hellmann, he forms the interim dual leadership of the DFL. In addition, Leki sits on the executive committee of the German Football Association.
