For a moment a true miracle seemed to take place. Sc Erica actually took a 1-0 lead in the cup match against Fourth Divisionist Hoogeveen.
At halftime, the third division team still had hope that the miracle could happen. After the resumption, Hoogeveen, however, put things in order. The team of coach Nico Haak prevented the shame by scoring three times and thus reaching the next round of the northern district cup.
Within ten minutes, the crowd was bouncing. Jasper Haandrikman served Pelle de Vries, who then gave goalkeeper Renzom Hemmes van Hoogeveen a nice push: 1-0.
After the break, SC Erica’s desire to provide a stunt was quickly over. Substitutes Noah Schuurman (1-1) and Jordy Gierveld (1-2) brought Hoogeveen back into the game. Justin Benjamins headed Hoogeveen to the final victory shortly afterwards: 1-3
