It could just be that SBS 6 will make a soap about Maxime Meiland’s upcoming wedding now that her friend Leroy has fallen on her knees. That says Private boss Evert Sankrediets.
Maxime Meiland announced yesterday with a photo series on Instagram that she was asked to marry her boyfriend Leroy (see below). In reality, this photo series was not made during the actual proposal, because that already took place three weeks ago, when she slept for a month in Uithoorn for the filming of Chateau Bijstand.
bunch of roses
It was very emotional, Maxime tells her SBS 6 colleagues from Shownieuws. “Of course I was in Uithoorn for recordings. We were separated for the first time for so long that he thought: I can’t wait anymore. Then he went to Uithoorn on Valentine’s Day and then he was here at the door with a really mega bouquet of roses.”
At first Maxime didn’t understand much of it. “I thought, oh, that’s for Valentine’s Day. And a little later during dinner he asked me.”
Small and intimate?
Maxime doesn’t want to go all out for her wedding. “Actually, we want to keep it very small and intimate, so there won’t be any bells and whistles in that regard. I hope this summer. We have an appointment at a castle near here.”
Private boss Evert Sankrediets mainly wonders what the outside world will see. “Maybe we’ll see the proposal in Chateau Bijstand, otherwise at least we’ll have these photos.”
spin-off
Evert is actually counting on a Chateau Meiland spin-off. “I am very curious what we will get from the marriage. She’s been quite a bit more private lately. Whether she will really share it with the general public or whether there will be a special or whether it will be in the new series of Chateau Meiland…”
Colleague Tooske Ragas: “That’s what I immediately thought. That whole ‘towards the wedding’ is recorded.”
Evert: “Of course we will first receive Chateau Bijstand this spring and then there will indeed be something with the family in the summer, but I can also imagine that you make a separate program in the run-up to the wedding and on the day itself in it. A miniseries of Chateau Marriage or something.”
