There is a lot of speculation about a possible transfer of Matthijs van Nieuwkerk to SBS 6, but does that channel even want him? Tina Nijkamp doesn’t think so. “Old viewers!”
Matthijs van Nieuwkerk is starting to eat very much into his assets now that he has been off the TV for a year. The public broadcaster will only open the door again once all kinds of investigations have been completed, but what if the television star needs money again? There is speculation that he will follow TV boss Frans Klein to Talpa.
Senior citizen magnet
According to close friend Özcan Akyol, that is really nonsense, but the rumors continue to circulate. However, as former channel boss of SBS 6, Tina Nijkamp cannot imagine that the channel is even waiting for Matthijs. She portrays him as a kind of elderly magnet.
Wilfred Genee asks her on BNR Nieuwsradio: “Matthijs van Nieuwkerk on SBS 6. Is that possible?”
Tina: “I wouldn’t recommend it to Matthijs and neither would SBS 6, because Matthijs scores quite old.”
‘Going to happen’
Wilfred is firmly convinced that Matthijs will start working at SBS 6. Wilfred: “It will probably happen.”
Tina: “I think he will go to the NPO. Didn’t Eus also say that he was staying with the NPO?”
Wilfred: “Yes, but Johan suggested again that perhaps Eus and Matthijs could go that way together (after Talpa, ed.). And so it goes in all directions all the time.”
Exciting
Tina doesn’t rule it out completely. “Yes, it is exciting. It’s exciting. But yes, I would advise Matthijs to stay at the NPO. I also don’t know which position at SBS 6 he should fill.”
Wilfred: “The eve, that’s the problem. I recently spoke to Paul Römer and he said: ‘The evening could still be a bit better, actually.’ So it could be there, right?”
Good train
Matthijs in the evening of SBS 6? So Tina really doesn’t see it in her mind. “Yes, well, fine. Long Live Love and A Year of Your Life was quite a good train. So yeah, well… I don’t know if Matthijs wants that every day. We wait and see.”
Then Wilfred suggests that Özcan and Matthijs can also alternate. “Alternately. One week on, one week off. Also possible.”
Tina: “It’s all possible.”
