When her grandmother dies, Saviera Davids (24) decides that she is going to do something about her excess weight. Grandma was so happy to grant her a slimmer body and previously suggested to her to consider a stomach reduction. She tells in our series ‘Warriors’ about what this surgery means for Saviera and how she uses her experiences to prepare other young women for its possible effects.
Warriors are inspiring people from North Holland. They are people who have experiences and have subsequently converted them into a positive contribution to society. With this series we give these fighters a platform to let that story be heard.
Saviera tells her story in Ru Paré, a house for the neighbourhood, in Amsterdam Nieuw-West. She carries a photo of her grandmother and herself when she was twice her weight. And a bra, which is way too big for her now.
