Sauna-Tero has been taking saunas every day for more than 14 years

Tero Hannila’s daily passion has already been sauna for 5,237 days.

– Who is the norm? Who is the ordinary one compared to, who is different? We can all be village crazies, because we are all different, says Tero in the Friday docker. Over

Noora Haapaniemi short documentary Kokkola’s Village Crazy will be seen today as part of the Friday talk show. Friday docket among other things, Sauna-Tero wonders who is ordinary.

From Tero Hannila is often asked why he is so different. His voice is considered unusual, and one thing about his appearance also catches the eye. Tero always wears a sauna hat. So it’s on your head not only in the sauna, but also everywhere else.

The hat reflects the man’s love for saunas.

– I have been taking saunas without a break for almost 14.5 years, Tero calculates in the documentary.

– I promised myself that if I could take a sauna for 4,000 days, I would start wearing a hat everywhere. I will never give it up, not anywhere. I racked up 4,000 days and have now worn the hat for 1,237 days everywhere.

The readings are so hard that they could get into, say, the Guinness Book of Records? Perhaps.

– I believe that 5,237 days in a row is one of the hardest sets that has ever been done in the field of saunas in the world. But the Guinness Book of Records needs written witnesses, two per day as I remember. It’s an impossible task after the fact.

The sauna craze started in Tero’s previous place of residence. Helsinki’s Vuosaari swimming pool was visited by a great crowd, which would captivate them.

– I fell in love with the sauna culture, Tero, who is currently influential in Kokkola, fondly remembers.
