Satisfied Telstar coach Mike Snoei does not agree with ‘teasing’ questions: “Poorly analysed”

After the North Holland derby Jong AZ – Telstar, there was some grumbling in the stands of the AZ training complex. The supporters thought they were watching a boring 0-0 game. Telstar trainer Mike Snoei saw his team dominate large parts of the game. “Too bad it wasn’t rewarded.”

While the necessary football fans in Wijdewormer were disappointed with the field game shown, Mike Snoei enjoyed his team and felt that his team deserved to win. The trainer from Velsen-Zuid also did not agree with the NH Sport reporter’s question. “Badly analysed, because they only shot twice at the goal.”

“Compact play”

The only excitement in the stands was fifteen minutes before the end when Young AZ goalie Sem Westerveld stopped the penalty from Christos Giousis. Furthermore, Telstar played fairly compact in its own half and Jong AZ had a hard time getting through that. “The AZ players are trained to play attacking football”, Jonathan Mulder looks back on the draw against Jong AZ. “So then you have to play compact against such teams.”

“Friend of mine”

Most important player on the Alkmaar side was Westerveld. The keeper of Jong AZ turned a number of shots from the second line and stopped the penalty fifteen minutes before the end. “I know Westerveld well,” said Mulder about the missed penalty from his teammate Giousis. “He’s a friend of mine, but I found this very sour.”

Due to the draw, Jong AZ climbs two places in the ranking to position eight. And Telstar drops just one spot to position thirteen. Both teams will be back in action on Friday. In Venlo, the promises from Alkmaar face VVV and in Velsen-Zuid Telstar will compete against FC Dordrecht. Of course it can be followed live on NH Radio.
