Saskia Noort is annoyed immensely by wealthy celebrities who advertise gambling companies. One of them is Wim Kieft. “Outrageous, isn’t it?” says the angry writer. “He has no morals.”
There is increasing annoyance about celebrities such as Hélène Hendriks and Wim Kieft who use their popularity to get people to gamble. The more people gamble, the more families will be succumbed to gambling addiction. A shame, says writer Saskia Noort. She reminds those stars of their responsibility.

When Rob Goossens expresses the expectation on Twitter that celebrities will pack around three to four tons for such an advertisement, notes Saskia: “Yes, I think so too. It’s scandalous. Especially Kieft, who also made tons of money with his cry book about his own addiction. No morals.”
Oops, that doesn’t sit well with Antoinette Scheulderman. She yells: “’Crying book’? I’m sorry: a very vulnerable book about years of struggle with addiction and its sometimes disastrous consequences, with which he ultimately supported many people in the same situation. (And yes, got out of debt as well; luckily).”
Blame
It is not surprising that Antoinnette reacts as if stung by a wasp. Her husband Michel van Egmond is the author of that ‘crying book’.
Saskia does not find Antoinnette’s argument convincing: “Yes, and now he is driving people into addiction, with which he does his own book no service. He of all people. As the sister of an addict, I blame him.”
Dan: “Crying book might not be the right term, sorry about that, but it does highlight how angry I am with those guys who make money advertising a highly addictive product.”
addictive behavior
Antoinnette: “I see it from the perspective of someone who has had to live on a tenner a week, with responsibility for children in debt restructuring – and therefore still sometimes makes choices for schnabbels that others in a more comfortable position would not have made. ”
Saskia: “Who chases others, who are not in possession of that privilege, into debt restructuring for their own gain. So typical addict behavior.”
