The University of Florida basketball team decided to bring some Christmas spirit to the sporting event in the form of Santa Claus last week. Whitebeard sang the US national anthem before the Florida and Notre Dame teams met on the floor.

Santa’s out-of-tune singing caused confused reactions in the viewers and the audience. The video posted on social media shows how many players and officials do not know how to react to the song.

Especially the cheerleader standing to Santa’s right can’t hold back her poker face when the song goes to higher notes. More and more people burst into laughter when Santa ends the hymn spectacularly.

At the end, the camera switches to filming the coach of the University of Florida, whose comment about Santa’s performance is left to be interpreted by the viewer.

Santa’s out-of-tune song aroused fury and hilarity on social media. One tweeter described the song as a shame. Another person filming the performance from the stands joked that Santa Claus was a little drunk. The third was definitely singing lessons for the goat, because Korvatunturi has not necessarily had the best acoustics.
