Alamo Race Track with new music

The Amsterdam idiosyncrasy pop and rock quartet Alamo Race Track, formerly Redivider, released four albums between 2003 and 2015, winning the hearts of many indie fans. The number Black Cat John Brown , taken from the album of the same name and with a video clip filmed in the Tivoli dressing room, went around the world; the song became a hit on YouTube. Alamo Race Track seemed to have disappeared from the radar for a while, but has recently been quietly working on their album called Greetings from Tear Valley and the Diamond Ae . This album was released in October, so the band has plenty of news to show on stage.

Support for this performance is provided by AWKWARD i, the pseudonym of Djurre de Haan. This songwriter is also a sought-after theater, TV and film composer. His new record, which will be released next year, will provide more than enough new material on Vera’s stage.

Toonkunstkoor Bekker presents ‘Hohe Messe’ | Advertisement

Toonkunstkoor Bekker and Baroque orchestra The Northern Consort bring the Hohe Messe by Johann Sebastian Bach with soloists. The Mass in B minor, also known as the High Mass, is considered Bach’s most perfect composition. As early as 1733 he wrote the first two parts of this monumental ecclesiastical work as Missa brevis, and it was completed between 1748-49. This was probably his last composition before his death in 1750, and, almost blind, he put his heart and soul into the project.

The Hohe Messe integrates styles and genres from Bach’s earlier works and seems an ultimate highlight of his life. The choir faces a challenge, but under the direction of Geert-Jan van Beijeren Bergen en Henegouwen, accompanied by The Northern Consort and with soloists, the concert promises to be a unique experience.
