After an edition always conducted at the top of the evening rankings, the couple defeated Elisa and Gianni Morandi in the final “triplet” with the song “Broglie”

Mahmood and Blanco, arms to the sky in Sanremo. Not for the classic of cycling but for the victory in the Festival: and to say that their Shivers was born from a wrong agreement and from the idea of ​​humming a few verses together in the past months. But the predictions of these days have been confirmed, despite the recovery of Gianni Morandi – who later finished third – with Friday’s covers. The podium, announced late at night, is the result of televoting after the 25 performances of the singers in the competition. Then, for the first three, everything was reset and the preferences of the opinion polls and the press room were added. Blanco was, among other things, the youngest in the race, 19 years old. Second ends Elisa. Fourth Irama, fifth Sangiovanni.

THE FINAL

But the last night was a long novel. Staged under the sign of Sabrina Ferilli, co-host who showed up in Sanremo in the morning, immediately disrupting the rituals of the previous ladies, all with promises: “We will have to do survival courses to show people how to get there at 3 in the morning, I know that there are also small snacks », the debut. Then, a thought for Morandi: «Is he still alive? I was worried, on Friday at 2 am I saw him gasping. ” In the evening, Sabrina immediately enters Amadeus with heels together (“There is Mentana who is worried about your marathons”), she confesses (“I have eaten roots for four days to get into this dress”), holds a monologue on the non know on what to hold the monologue (“But lightness is not superficiality”, quoting Italo Calvino). Someone does not give up on the spin: Mahmood and Blanco enter the scene with the bikes in their video, Tananai has a heart on his nose but will end up in black jersey, behind Ana Mena. There is also space for the guest of Marco Mengoni who here – in 2013 – won with L’essenziale and who offers a (useful) reflection on the weight of freedom of speech, together with the actor Filippo Scotti, the Fabietto of È stato the hand of God.

THE POLEMIC

There was no lack of controversy at the end of the Festival. With discontent among some artists. The reason? Jovanotti. The doubt about the appropriateness of his presence during the evening of the covers, first in the duet with Morandi then with a space of his own, arises from the fact that Lorenzo is also the author of the song brought by Gianni in the race (as, moreover, Mahmood is co -author of Noemi). False race? “Jovanotti was not an agreed presence, I only learned about it 24 hours before (in Rai there are those who say that everything had been known for three days, ed): he did it out of friendship, and did not receive a cent”, the replica of Amadeus. But the couple’s choice to sing a medley with the successes of one and the other also stirred the waters. “Each singer is free to bring whoever he wants and to interpret the song he wants, even one of his songs – replies Amadeus – And to announce it or not”. However, the crux is also the alleged violation of the regulation, which would have provided for the indication of the guest’s name by 24 January. «I do not oblige anyone to announce the guest in the race a month before. For example, it may be that an artist can have Covid and there is the possibility of calling another one at the last minute “. Last night, however, Jova invited people to vote for her friend via social media.

However, the epilogue confirms the variety of the Festival’s proposal. Until Saturday afternoon, very different artists competed for gold. Mahmood and Blanco, the Milanese singer with an Egyptian father who imposed himself in 2019 with Soldi and Riccardo Fabbriconi from Calvagese della Riviera, 3000 souls in Bresciano, 18 years old, a past of hope in football, today a singer known as Blanco. Take a tour on his social networks, the phenomenon is there. Their Chills, immediately record-breaking in streaming, is a persuasive declaration of love between romance and desire. Open all the doors is instead a very radio piece that has already reached the kids and evokes a return to freedom. Finally Elisa, more than 20 years after her success with Luce, has offered with O perhaps sei tu a pop ballad that projects the music upwards. But the Festival has (again) built its fortune on a musical proposal capable of recovering generation Z of Romano, Sangiovanni or of Blanco himself, honoring the veterans Ranieri and Iva Zanicchi, passing through niche proposals such as the underrated Highsnob and Hu . Not everyone likes everything but the important thing is that we talk about it, especially on social media. And the Ariston confirms itself as a showcase that rewards beyond the outcome. Or maybe it’s you, in yesterday’s numbers, had surpassed one million streams on Spotify: it’s just an example.

THE LISTENERS

It remains a triumphal Sanremo for Rai. So much so that Amadeus-quater is already listed by bookmakers (2.50). Also on Friday evening, in the challenge of the covers that Morandi had relaunched, the Festival gathered 11 million and 378 thousand spectators in front of the TV, with a share of 60.5%. The peak of ratings, in absolute values, was reached at 22.15 with 16,388,000 spectators, when Achille Lauro gave the roses to Loredana Bertè (confirming how the musical charts do not coincide with the emotional ones: Lauro, returns at home with seat 14). The peak of share was instead touched at 23.25 with 67.3%, when Jovanotti took the stage with Amadeus. According to Rai, to find higher ratings in the fourth evening – in terms of share – we must go back to 1995, at the Pippo Baudo Festival with Anna Falchi and Claudia Koll. Today the “baudi” are the credits of FantaSanremo. In short, the people show (less plastered than, for example, the Conti management) pays more and more, mixing the songs with life stories, civil prayers, amarcord (yesterday, Lucio Dalla and Raffaella Carrà), more or less cautious provocations, ideas that can please everyone. And comedians: but Fiorello only participated in the prime time, Checco Zalone lit up on Wednesday reaching the Bulgarian share of 60%. The rest did the songs. This is why Amadeus might come back: «Are you stopping? – Ferilli asked him yesterday, cheekily – Did you say that? Mattarella also said so, but then he stayed ».
