Sandra Houdijk wanted to go to a familiar place, Ibiza, for a few months to cope with the death of her partner. She had to leave her house in Dordrecht, she says, because recovering there? That wasn’t going to happen. Too many memories. She thought she found a reliable man to rent her place to. After she returned to the Netherlands, she decided to put her house on Jacob Catsstraat for sale.
She asked the tenant for the key back. “The key didn’t come, he didn’t pay the rent consistently and said he had to ‘clean out the nursery’.”
