Ruud de Wild has never been able to admit that he was fired in 2015 as the afternoon jock of Radio 538 to make way for the duo Coen Swijnenberg and Sander Lantinga. Since then, he has lashed out at the radio duo almost incessantly. And now that they have to stop, Ruud is at the front to shout that the rack is indeed out.

‘Ruud is so sour!’

Sander thinks this is such a huge kick that he is done with being silent about Ruud’s sneers. He went into the program this afternoon The Press Stand completely loose on his radio colleague. “Ruud de Wild… Speaking of sour DJs, there’s one! For seven years now, he has still had a hard time with us ever sitting in his place.”

It’s so bland, Sander thinks. “In every interview, so again at Boulevard, he mentions things like this. While, yes, about ‘going out’… He might as well watch his own show, you know. That he says it doesn’t surprise me at all, because that’s just what he lives for at times.”

Sander hurt?

Does Sander feel hurt by Ruud? “No, it doesn’t hurt me, because of course you always have people who think something about it and it is an impossible task to satisfy one hundred percent of the Dutch population. That just won’t work.”

He continues: “Only with this man do I think: dude, dude, we kept our mouths shut for seven years, Coen and I, because in every interview he mentions us again.”

“Don’t be so sour!”

Sander thinks it’s childish of Ruud. “He is so terribly busy with it and for seven years we don’t respond. Well, now I think it’s time to respond. I think: don’t be so sour man, that’s the way things just go, right?”

Does he himself think the rack is out? “In terms of content, I’m not quite sure yet, no.”
